Lok Chitrakar, a self-taught master of Paubha painting, has devoted over forty years to this ancient Nepali art form. Born into the Chitrakar clan, Lok’s fascination with paints and brushes began in his childhood, inspired by his family’s rich artistic legacy. Renowned for his precise depictions of iconography from ancient Buddhist and Hindu texts, Lok’s works blend traditional techniques with modern elements, exploring realism, impressionism, and abstract forms.

Founded by the renowned artist Lok Chitrakar in 1998, Simrik Atelier aims to address the decline of traditional art and mentor new artists. We emphasize iconography, iconometry, and religious philosophy in our comprehensive training programs, making this unique art form accessible to all, including underprivileged students.Our goal is to ensure that the beauty and knowledge of Paubha are passed on to future generations. We prepare artists not only for personal advancement but also to become future teachers.
